Time To Mullet

HEY what’s this a blog post.
So I’ve been dabbling my fingers into a lot of work pies lately – so much so that the mere maintenance and cultivation of my workload became a job unto itself. As such certain activities took the chop. Well, the pies are cooling now, so it’s time to get back to rambling about That Sandwich I Ate, That Weird Dog I Saw, or other blog topics.
Speaking of, it’s time to talk about That Movie I Watched.
Elevators and New Wave

Having just spent about thirty seconds with my cursor blinking curtly in the “Title” box I realize I’ve been approaching this blog business all the wrong way. Over BBQ I remarked that I constantly thought the banal events of my day were hardly worthy of blog’n. It’s not an actively negative process, merely that the boring and uninteresting things that occur to me on a daily basis never trigger the active “Oh man I should post about this on the internet” response that is seemingly common with the kiddos these days.
Over the same BBQ, a friend of mine offered the sage advice: Just start typing and shit will happen.
Here I am, already a paragraph deep, and the words are equally truthful and prophetic. A new policy: from now on I will blog first and title later. For now, I suppose there are things about which to write. New job, earning more for talking about games, but holy shit Devo.

“Oh man, is that a DS? What are you playing?”
The cafe manager’s question sounded genuine enough, but it immediately set me on edge as a flurry of considerations ran through my head. It was Wednesday, which means my girlfriend and several of her shrieking female companions had taken roost in my apartment in celebration of “girl’s night” – an event involving a girly movie and the TV show Glee. My severe allergy to jazz hands and overacting sent me walkabout, eventually settling in a cafe for a few hours of time-killing DS-ery.

BIT.TRIP RUNNER Review
by Lawrence Sonntag on May.25, 2010, under Reviews
BIT.TRIP RUNNER is the Kill Bill of videogames – not in the sense that you’ll kill waves of blood-spewing henchmen with a sweet katana, but in that it mixes reverence of the old with new techniques, and becomes refreshingly original in the process. Like the rest of the BIT.TRIP series, RUNNER is homage to gaming history, but its mix of razor-sharp platforming and music game sensibilities make it much more substantial than a kitschy throwback.

The grand irony behind the elapse between this post in the last is that I’ve been spending it writing, just not here.
